Ogie Eboigbe - Epa Don Come

This is Ogie Eboigbe, a fine gentleman, prolific writer, devout Christian and an Epa (Elder)

Yesterday 12th February, in the opulent upper room event centre of the Lagos Country Club, he celebrated his 70th Birthday and the launch of his book “Epa Don Come”, in an event that that attracted the crème de la crème of the Society.

Events are history makers. Celebrating an event preserves the moment in history. Documenting memories for present generation and generations yet unborn. If you have not celebrated anything in life, please do so for posterity’s sake.

Ogie has seen it all from Broadcasting to the Corporate world then to the diplomatic circles and even the religious world. He is a bundle of talent, wisdom and experience.

In this post I celebrate Ogie and pray that the Good Lord will eternally protect and guide him as he continues with his exemplary leadership.

Good Health is Better than Silver and Gold

3.1              Event Medicals

Most events are mainly happy moments and it is everyone’s prayer in any event that the need for medicals does not arise. However, it is important that we keep a medical team/medication on standby. The worst case scenario is to have a first aid box loaded with original drugs from recognized a pharmacy. The Event Manager working with the Event Centre Manager, should ensure that the first aid box is provided somewhere that is within easy reach so that in the case of any emergency, something can be started while an ambulance is on the way. Here a few pre-event checks that can be performed during vendors meeting.

1.      Some event centres / locations / venues have an in-house clinic with defibrillators, it is important to double check and ensure functionality.

2.       Check out the first aid box and ensure it is fully loaded with the right drugs and medicaments.

3.      Meet with the assigned medical personnel and review medical plan.

4.      Meet with the vendors / contractors and review medical plan.

5.      Identify the nearest ambulance service and establish contact.

6.      Double check to ensure that the medical representation is knowledgeable in performing resuscitation emergency.

7.      Do a test run.
